The Mauritanian news agency (AMI) is an institution of public administrative establishment-type character who enjoys relaxing in administrative , accounting and financial system. It was created in 1975 under the name " Mauritanian News Agency " ( AMP). It published its first dispatch on the day of its creation, which coincided with the release of the first issues of the newspaper " Shaab " and " Horizons " , published at the time by the Mauritanian Press Association and Printing ( SMPI ) . The AMI is today under its original purpose , the traditional services of a news agency providing its clients with a news feed in Arabic and French covering national, regional and international activity. It has to do this, in addition to the central departments of its headquarters in Nouakchott , a network of correspondents and regional offices across the country. The Mauritanian Information Agency also provides an information service via SMS.
