Overview

The magazine covers mainly classical music from all periods of music history . It contains composer portraits , reviews of concerts and recordings , music theory backgrounds, an agenda with announcements and articles on interfaces between classical music and other music forms. Wouter Paap decades was the driving force behind the blade. He pulled leading musicians and music publicists and wrote many contributions, partly under the pseudonyms Gerard worker and Arend Shell. After his retirement in 1973 remained Man and melody appear monthly, but had to be changed several times in the years after 1990, publisher and editor . In the 21st century, the regular appearance can not be guaranteed. In November 2011 Man and melody reappeared, after a year absence. In surveys had indicated loyal subscribers the blade to wear a warm heart so a restart was possible.
