Terms of use
Use the directory. Respect the work behind it.
These terms set the rules for accessing MediaDatabase, using professional contact information, and contributing to the directory.
Effective: 17 August 2026
1. About these terms
MediaDatabase is operated by PEHANSEN ApS, also trading as PressPort (CVR 38965271), at Søndre Molevej 10D, 1., 4600 Køge, Denmark (“MediaDatabase”, “we”, “us”). These terms apply when you visit the website, create an account, reveal contact information, or submit a contribution.
By using MediaDatabase, you agree to these terms. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What the service provides
MediaDatabase is a researched directory of media outlets and professional newsroom contact information. It also provides search, media monitoring, saved lists, contribution workflows, and controlled access to available professional email addresses.
Newsrooms, roles, websites, and contact details change. We review and improve the directory, but we do not promise that every record is complete, current, or error-free. You should check important information before relying on it and use the correction workflow when something appears wrong.
3. Accounts and access
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
- You are responsible for your account, password, and activity under your account.
- You must not share credentials or allow another person to avoid access limits.
- You must promptly tell us if you suspect unauthorised access.
- Paid subscriptions are purchased for a 12-month term. A monthly-equivalent price may be displayed, but the annual subscription fee is billed in advance unless a written order says otherwise. Applicable taxes and renewal terms are confirmed when you order.
- Allowances, plan features, and availability may change between subscription terms. Reopening a contact already revealed by the same account does not consume another reveal under the current rules.
4. Permitted use
You may search and view the directory and use individual contact details for relevant, lawful professional outreach connected with media relations, journalism, public information, or communications work. You may keep reasonable internal notes and lists for that purpose, subject to your plan and applicable law.
A contact appearing in the directory does not by itself amount to consent to receive advertising or unrelated messages. You are responsible for the content, recipients, frequency, and legal basis of your communications, and for promptly respecting objections and opt-out requests.
If your paid plan or written order includes curated CSV exports, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download the authorised extract and use it internally within your organisation for relevant, lawful media-relations work. You may allow your personnel and contractors to use it on your behalf, but you remain responsible for their compliance with these terms. Unless your written order expressly permits it, you may not give the raw extract to a client or other third party, resell it, republish it, use it to create a data product, or combine extracts to reconstruct the wider directory.
5. Prohibited use
Except for an export expressly included in your paid plan or written order, you must not:
- scrape, crawl, harvest, spider, or use automated means to collect directory data;
- extract, download, reproduce, or reuse directory data beyond the authorised export, or repeatedly extract smaller parts in a systematic way;
- republish, distribute, sell, license, syndicate, or make directory data available to another person outside your organisation;
- build, enrich, verify, or operate a competing directory or contact-data product;
- bypass reveal allowances, authentication, rate limits, robots rules, or security controls;
- use contact data for spam, indiscriminate bulk messaging, harassment, or unlawful marketing;
- probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or attempt unauthorised access to the service;
- submit malware, deceptive material, unlawful content, or information you have no right to provide; or
- use the service in a way that infringes privacy, intellectual-property, or other legal rights.
We use reveal records, rate limits, security logs, and other lawful technical and organisational measures to prevent and investigate unauthorised extraction or reuse.
6. The directory and our intellectual property
Copyright © 2026 PEHANSEN ApS. All rights reserved. The website’s original text, design, software, classifications, selection, verification, organisation, and presentation are protected by copyright and other applicable intellectual-property laws. The structured collection may also be protected by database rights, including the right to prevent unauthorised extraction or reutilisation.
No permission is granted to reproduce the directory in whole or in substantial part on paper, online, in software, in a machine-retrieval system, or on any other medium. Repeated and systematic reuse of smaller portions may also be prohibited. The limited permission in section 4, including for authorised paid exports, does not transfer ownership or grant a general licence to the wider directory.
Individual facts are not claimed as our original works merely because they appear in the directory. Outlet names, personal names, logos, photographs, trademarks, articles, and other third-party material remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification, reference, or under an applicable licence. Nothing in these terms grants you rights in that third-party material.
7. Contributions and the licence you give us
You keep any intellectual-property rights you hold in material you submit. When you submit information, text, a logo, an image, a correction, or other material with the intention that it be reviewed for the directory, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable licence to store, verify, edit, adapt, reproduce, publish, distribute, and otherwise use that material to operate, secure, promote, and improve MediaDatabase and related PressPort services.
This licence continues for material incorporated into the directory, even if you later close your account, to the extent permitted by law. You confirm that your submission is accurate to the best of your knowledge, is not confidential, and that you have the rights needed to submit it and grant this licence. We may approve, reject, edit, or remove a contribution and are not required to publish it.
8. Privacy
Our privacy and GDPR notice explains how we process member, contributor, usage, and professional directory data. It also explains how media contacts can request access, correction, objection, or removal.
9. Third-party services and links
MediaDatabase may link to outlet websites, articles, maps, and other services we do not control. Links are provided for reference and do not imply endorsement. Third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their availability, security, or content.
10. Availability, changes, and suspension
We may maintain, update, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. We may limit or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, contacts, other users, or our rights; investigate suspected misuse; comply with law; or enforce these terms. Serious or repeated violations may result in account termination.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, we accept no responsibility for incorrect email addresses, broken or redirected links, errors, omissions, outdated details, or other inaccurate or faulty data in or obtained through MediaDatabase. The service, directory, monitoring results, and external links are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties as to accuracy, completeness, quality, availability, non-infringement, or fitness for a particular purpose.
You use directory information and external links at your own risk. You remain responsible for checking data before use, deciding whether a contact is relevant, and complying with privacy, marketing, communications, employment, and intellectual-property law. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty, liability, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, opportunity, anticipated savings, or data arising from use of or inability to use the service. We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or personal injury caused by negligence.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the service, our business, or the law changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. If a change materially affects registered members, we will provide additional notice where appropriate. Continued use after the new terms take effect means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by Danish law, without depriving a consumer of mandatory protections that apply in their country of residence. Disputes are subject to the competent Danish courts unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
Questions, permission requests, and reports of misuse can be sent to [email protected].
